Personal branding, logo and business cards

When considering the type of brand that I wanted to create for myself I knew a few things right away. First off, I wanted it to be pink. A majority of my projects throughout my studies have had a pink theme to them. Mostly it's because I just really like the colour, and I think it has made some of my projects perhaps stand out a bit more. But I have thought about this beyond just the colour, and I want to show employers that my reasoning for picking this colour is to show that I am a little bit quirky and different. It would be kind of boring and dull if I just went with some blue or grey design. That doesn't really fit my personality and so I wanted something that represented me. Additionally, when I asked my friend what I should consider for my personal brand he suggested pink. So there you go, I am pink.

The exact hex code I have chosen is #B88393. This is a muted pink which makes it easy for white text and logos to stand out against it. I did have a light pink theme initially but I wanted my colour palette to have a lot of white as well, and the white wasn't so legible against the bright pink, so I dulled it down a little. Just another example of the shackles placed on me by society.

To keep consistency across all of my deliverables, I have included a bit of this colour in everything I am submitting. That goes for my website, business cards, letterhead and invoice. This helps create the personal branding I am going for.

As for my logo, I have used the typeface Oswald which I downloaded online. I wanted to have a legible sans-serif font that could be easily read upon looking at one of my business cards or letters. For the logo I have drawn a simple image of a tulip. This is because I quite like flowers and what they represent, I think they're pretty and aesthetically pleasing, and my mum's favourite flower is a tulip so it has a little personal significance there. I also created another logo with the colours inverted so I could stamp it across multiple different formats. Here is the final result for the logo:

My business cards are very simple and serve their purpose. To bring attention to my brand and advertise my website and services.
